Well, it’s another Friday, so that means Cara and Marly are back with another FriChats. What exactly are FriChats? We’re so glad you asked. FriChats is where Cara and Marly get real about food blogging; we talk about the soulful, voyage of discovery that’s involved when you’re a create entrepreneur. Today we’re talking about the Wild West of Food Blogging. You’re curious, right? Read on for more information. You might like some other soulful blogging chats including when we talked with Finding Vegan Founder Kathy Patalsky about Branding vs Authenticity. Or what about Money vs Happiness.

Today on FriChats Marly is talking about Tennis and Blogging and how we can learn about being in the present moment, being nonjudgmental, and staying relaxed in order to play...and blog our best!

Today is time for FriChats and Cara and Marly are back with an impassioned chat about the Wild West of Food Blogging. What does that even mean? It’s a good question. Well, here’s the deal, food blogging is still a relatively new industry. Just imagine that 10 years ago or so only a few people had managed to make money with blogging. The field was a lot less competitive as a result. But once people began to breakthrough and realize the financial possibilities, the industry really began to take off.

Now, today food blogging has become really competitive. As a result you see a lot of people providing formulas for success. What do these formulas look like? Well, they oftentimes involve social media sharing strategies, including the number of times you should be posting per day. They might also tell you how many times a week you should be posting content to your blog. Follow these instructions and you too will have a successful food blog.

However, what if these formulas don’t feel great to you? What if being on Facebook and Instagram and SnapChat, and more begins to eat at your soul? What if you feel miserable following the paths that seem to be working for others?

It might just mean that you’re ready to carve your own path. It may be that you’re itching to, in the words of Fleetwood Mac, go your own way.

That’s what Marly talks about with her own site. She’s aspiring to take her site in another direction and shares more about that on today’s episode.

The important thing is to find a path that works for you and allows you to have your own life as well too.
